'Makabelo Priscilla Mosothoane (wey dem born 1952) be Lesotho politician wey serve as de country ein Minister for Education and Training from 2012 go 2015, insyd de government of Tom Thabane. She work as nurse den schoolteacher before she enter politics, den she sana be president of de local branch of de Red Cross Society.

Early life

Dem born Mosothoane insyd Kanye, Botswana, insyd Tswana family. Ein native language be Setswana. Mosothoane attend secondary school insyd Gaborone (Botswana ein capital), den later complete diploma insyd nursing, where she do ein internship insyd Gaborone ein Princess Marina Hospital. She move go Lesotho to study insyd de National University of Lesotho, where she graduate insyd 1982 plus Bachelor of Arts insyd Education. As she remain insyd Lesotho after graduation, Mosothoane start work as high school teacher, teaching for schools insyd Linare den Hlotse. For 1987, she start to work insyd de English-medium school for de Leribe District, where she become principal for 1991. Outside ein work insyd education, Mosothoane be elected as president of de Lesotho Red Cross Society for 2003.[1]

Politics

Insyd de 2012 Lesotho general election, Mosothoane be elected to de National Assembly as Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) ein candidate, as she win de Hlotse constituency. She defeat Lineo Molise, wey be sitting deputy minister.[2] After de election, Mosothoane be made Minister for Education and Training insyd de coalition government wey Prime Minister Tom Thabane of de All Basotho Convention (ABC) form.[3] During de time wey she serve as education minister, she introduce new nationwide curriculum for primary schools, den she sana supervise de localisation of secondary school examinations, wey before now Cambridge International Examinations (British organisation) dey handle.[4]

Insyd October 2014, Mosothoane too be appointed as Minister for Communications, Science den Technology insyd acting capacity, afta dem sack Selibe Mochoboroane from de ministry. Mochoboroane talk say ein removal no be lawful, den ein refuse to commot from ein office or give up de oda ministerial resources.[5] Mosothoane be replaced as acting minister by Joang Molapo for February 2015, by dat time Mochoboroane still dey challenge de legitimacy of how dem sack am.[6] Even though she be sitting minister, she lose insyd LCD primary election before de 2015 general election, so she no fit retain ein seat insyd de National Assembly.[7]
