'Mamoshebi Kabi (7 March 1936 – 9 May 1999) be one Mosotho politician. She be one of de first group of women wey dem elect go insyd de National Assembly of Lesotho for 1993.

Biography

Dem born Kabi insyd Khubetsoana insyd 1936, she be de eighth kiddie of Eliza Phakisi plus reverend Elijah Phakisi.[1][2] After she go de National University of Lesotho, she go study again for Tennessee State University for de United States plus St. Francis Xavier University for Canada. For 1958 she marry Motete Kabi, plus dem get two daughters plus two sons. Two years later she join de Basutoland Congress Party (BCP). During de state of emergency wey happen for de 1970s, police arrest Kabi fourteen times, plus dem torture am eleven times. She work for de Institute of Extra Mural Studies for de National University of Lesotho plus she serve as secretary general for de Women's League.[1]

Kabi stand as BCP candidate for de 1993 general elections, plus she be one of de three women wey dem elect, wey make dem become de first female members of de National Assembly.[3] She be Organisation of African Unity observer for de 1994 South African general elections. For 1996, dem appoint her as Minister of Transport, Post plus Telecommunications. De following year she become de first Minister of Women's Affairs, but dem later change de post name to Minister of Gender, Youth plus Environment de following year.[4] She die on 9 May 1999 after long sickness.[5]
