Early life den education

Dem born Khaketla insyd Maseru on 5 March 1960. Ein parents be Bennett Makalo plus Caroline Ntseliseng ’Masechele Khaketla.[1] Ein poppie be novelist, journalist, politician den former minister; he be di major shareholder for Mohlabani Property Company, wey he left her one big estate.[2][3] Ein mommie be teacher plus author, na she be one of de first women wey publish book for Lesotho.[4][5]

Khaketla do ein primary den secondary school for Maseru, den she get Bachelor of Education from National University of Lesotho for 1980. She get master's degree for education plus PhD for mathematics education from University of Wisconsin (1991). De title for ein thesis be "An analysis of the Lesotho Junior Certificate Mathematics Examination and its impact on instructions".[1]

Career

Khaketla be mathematics lecturer for National Teacher Training College from 1981 go 1995, den later she turn assistant director for de same college. From 1996 go 2001, she work for Institute of Development Management wey dey Lesotho den Botswana, before she become director for Centre for Accounting Studies.

Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili appoint am as senator for 2002, den she serve as Minister of Communications, Science and Technology from 2002 go 2004. For de 2007 election inside, she lose ein seat but she later enter National Assembly as one of de Lesotho Congress for Democracy members through party list for proportional representation wey National Independence Party submit. From 2007 go 2012, she be Minister of Education and Training. By 2011, Khaketla be one of seven women wey dey Cabinet; de rest be Mannete Ramali, Maphoka Motoboli, Mathabiso Lepono, Mphu Keneileo Ramatlapeng, Mpeo Mahase-Moiloa den Pontso Suzan Matumelo Sekatle.[6] On 30 March 2015, dem appoint am Minister of Finance.

Insyd November 2015, Khaketla preside over de 102nd session of de African, Caribbean den Pacific Group of States Council of Ministers.[7]

Insyd July 2016, dem accuse Khaketla say she try collect bribe for one big government contract matter wey dey court. But she deny de allegation.[8][9]
