Adjustment disorder be a mental disorder dem define by a maladaptive response to a psychosocial stressor.[1] De maladaptive response usually dey involve otherwise normal emotional den behavioral reactions wey dey manifest more intensely dan usual (wey dey consider contextual den cultural factors), wey dey cause marked distress, preoccupation plus de stressor den ein consequences, den functional impairment.[2][3][4][5]

Diagnosis of adjustment disorder be common, plus lifetime prevalence estimates for adults dey range from 5 to 21%.[6] Adult women be diagnosed twice as often as men. Among kiddies den adolescents, girlies den boys be equally likely to be diagnosed plus an adjustment disorder.[7]
