Afrofuture (stylized as AfroFuture), formerly known as Afrochella, be an African music festival that started insyd 2019.

Background

AfroFuture be one of several cultural events dat takes place insyd Ghana insyd December, wey include de Afro Nation festival den BHIM. De Black Star Line Festival be scheduled to launch insyd January 2023.

History

AfroFuture be co-founded insyd 2019 as Afrochella by Abdul Abdullah. De festival be organised by Culture Management Group.[1]

2019 attendees

Afrochella 2020 dey occur from December 26 to January 1 insyd El Wak Stadium den featured Tiwa Savage, Joey-B den Juls, Sarkodie, Samini, Wande Coal, Distruction Boyz, Mercedes Benson, Neya Music, den Amarachi Nwosu.[2] Afrochella 2021 featured Wizkid den Stonebwoy.[3]

Insyd October 2022, de organisers be sued by de organisers of Coachella festival for trademark infringement.

De last Afrochella take place insyd Accra ein El-Wak stadium on December 28 den 29, 2022. De 2022 festival theme be Afrofuturism. Performers include Stonebwoy, Asake, Ayra Starr, Juls, Meek Mill, Rema, Black Sherif, Camidoh, Aerostar, and Gyakie plus Burna Boy performing de headline act. Ayra Starr dey fall while performing den dey call am upon de organisers to clean de stage between performances.
