De Al-Rahman Mosque (Arabic: جامع الرحمان, lit. 'Mosque of The Most Merciful') insyd Baghdad, na dem intend to be one of de largest mosques insyd Iraq. By de 1990s, Iraq start to improve ein Islamic credentials wich include de building of mosques.[5] Na dis be a part of de Faith campaign wich include implementing Sharia sciences insyd de joints den stages of Iraqi education. To plete dis campaign, former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein decide to build large mosques for de state insyd every Iraqi province wey dey include Baghdad wer Saddam build chaw mosques.[6]

Dem decide de mosque ein location to be built insyd al-Mansour district wey na dem build am on de location of de old horse racing field wich dem move to al-Ghazaliya insyd 1993.[7]

De second phase begin insyd 1999 under de orders of former Iraqi Presido Saddam Hussein wey na dem designed am to match de Taj Mahal insyd India den be one of de largest mosques insyd de world as well as accommodating 15,000 worshipers.
