Amu Festival

Amu or de Rice Festival be yearly harvest festival wey de chiefs den people of Vane dey celebrate. Vane be de traditional capital for de Avatime people.[1][2] E dey inside Ho West District for de Volta Region of Ghana. Dem dey usually celebrate am for de last week inside November go reach December.[3] Some people too talk say dem dey celebrate am around September or October.[4]

During de festival, dem dey play drums, dance den sing.[5][6] De festival dey celebrate de harvesting of brown rice, just as de name talk.[7][8][9] De people talk say dem migrate from de Ahanta areas for de Western Region den fight take de place wey dem dey live now from de original people.[10][11]
