Abu Bakr appoint Ikrima as de commander of one of de corps. Ikrima ein orders be to advance den make contact plus de forces of Musaylima at al-Yamama, buh no be to get involved insyd battle plus am. Ikrima get insufficient forces to attack de overwhelmingly more numerous foe. D3m choose Khalid ibn al-Walid to command de forces wey dey oppose Musaylima after he deal plus smaller forces of oda apostates. Abu Bakr ein intention in giving Ikrima dis mission be to tie Musaylima down at Yamama. Plus Ikrima on de horizon, Musaylima go remain in expectation of an attack den thus no be able to leave ein base. Plus Musaylima so committed, Khalid go be free to deal plus de rebels of North-Central Arabia widout interference from Yamama. Dis happen at de end of October 632 (end of Rajab, 11 Hijri). He be defeated by Musaylima. He wrep to Abu Bakr ra wey he give am a complete account of ein actions. Abu Bakr both be pained den angered by de rashness of Ikrima den ein disobedience to de orders dem give to am. Abu Bakr order am to march to Mahra to help Arfaja den thereafter go to de Yemen to help Muhajir. Shurahbil remain insyd de region of Yamama. To ensure sat he no fall into de error of Ikrima, Abu Bakr wrep to am: "Stay wer you dey den await further instructions."[1]

De Caliph send for Khalid wey he give am de mission of destroying de forces of Musaylima at Yamama. In addition to ein own large corps, Khalid go get under ein command de corps of Shurahbil. Khalid ride to Buta wer ein old corps await am. Meanwhile, de Caliph wrep to Shurahbil to work under Khalid ibn al-Walid ein command. A few days before Khalid ein arrival na Shurahbil give in to de same temptation as Ikrima; he advance den clash plus Musaylima, buh dem defeat am. Khalid get news say Musaylima encamp insyd de plain of Aqraba plus an army of 40,000 warriors.
