Clarkson Thomas Nylander be Ghanaian educationist, diplomat den politician. He serve as minister of state den member of parliament insyd de first republic. He be Minister of Education den Minister of State for Defence. He be member of parliament for Dangbe-Shai electoral district, den later Ga Rural electoral district. Later, from 1961 go 1969, he represent Ghana for various foreign missions.

Dem born Nylander insyd 1905 insyd Gold Coast. He start ein early school for Accra Methodist School den some Government schools for Accra den Kumasi. He continue go Government Training College for Accra for 1925 as one of de top students to train as teacher.[1][2][3]

Career den politics

Nylander start ein teaching work for Achimota School from 1926 go 1953. Insyd 1952, dem appoint am as assistant education officer. Later he lef teaching make he enter politics. For 1954, dem elect am as member of de Legislative Assembly for Dangbe-Shai electoral district under Convention People's Party. Insyd 1956, dem re-elect am, dis time as member for Ga Rural electoral district.[4] He serve dis district till 1961 wey dem carry am enter foreign service. Insyd 1956, he become Ministerial Secretary (deputy minister) for Ministry of Interior.[5] One year later, dem appoint am Minister of Education.[6] He serve for dis role for about two years. Then for 1959, he become Minister of State for Defence. Inside de second republic elections, he contest for Ablekuma seat under National Alliance of Liberals wey he win.[7] He serve till 1972 wey Busia ein government collapse.

Ambassadorial duties

Dem appoint Nylander as Ghana ein High Commissioner to Canada for 1961.[8][9] He serve for dat role for about three years. For 1964, dem make am Ghana ein ambassador go Yugoslavia.[10] He hold dat position till 1966 wey dem overthrow Nkrumah ein government. After dat, he still remain for foreign service inside as Ghana ein ambassador to Liberia from 1966 go 1969,[11] wey de NLC government hand over power give civilian regime.

He marry Florence Nylander for January 1931, den dem get seven kiddies together. He be de poppie of Ladi Nylander, wey serve as member of de Convention People's Party (CPP) Central Committee from 2004 to 2011.[12] He be poppie too of de late Mrs. Doris Naa Lamiley Asherker Decker (née Nylander), wey work for Ghana Library Board.[13] Ein hobbies be music den singing.
