Donald Mlindwa Gumede (born 30 August 1950) be South African politician who represent de African National Congress (ANC) insyd de National Assembly from 1995 to 2019. He be active insyd anti-apartheid movement plus trade union movement during apartheid.
Early life den activism
[edit | edit source]Dem born am on 30 August 1950,[1] Gumede be son of Archie Gumede plus grandson of Josiah Gumede—both ANC stalwarts.[2][3] He be involved insyd anti-apartheid activism through de United Democratic Front insyd de 1980s den be founding member of de Congress of South African Trade Unions. He hold Bachelor ein degree from University of the Western Cape.[4]
Legislative career
[edit | edit source]Gumede join de National Assembly insyd early 1995, filling a casual vacancy.[5] He be elected to a full term insyd de assembly insyd de 1999 general election den thereafter served four terms insyd ein seat, gaining re-election insyd 2004,[6] 2009, 2014.[4] Initially listed on de ANC ein national party, he represented de KwaZulu-Natal constituency during ein last two terms insyd de assembly.[4]
