Ernest Aryeetey (dem born am 19 October 1955 insyd Kumasi, Ghana),[1] be an Emeritus Professor for de Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) for de University of Ghana. Til 31st July 2024, na he be de secretary-general of de African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA). Na he sanso previously be vice-chancellor of de University of Ghana (2010-2016). Prior to ein appointment as vice-chancellor, na he be a senior fellow den director of de Africa Growth Initiative for de Brookings Institution, Washington, D.C. Na he sanso be director of ISSER for de University of Ghana for de period February 2003 to January 2010.

He study economics plus statistics (1975–1978) for de University of Ghana wey he take a master's degree insyd regional planning for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (1979–1981) wey he obtain a PhD (Doktor-Ingenieur) from de University of Dortmund, Germany insyd 1985. Insyd July 2017, de University of Sussex, UK, award Ernest Aryeetey an honorary degree for significant contribution to de study of African economies den to higher education transformation insyd Africa.[2][3] Since then, he receive honorary degrees from Lund University, Sweden (2021) Stellenbosch University, South Africa (2022), University of Ghana (2023), University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho (2023), and University of Glasgow (2024).
