Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu[1] (born 30 June 1977) be Ghana public servant den politician. She be de current Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of de Juaben Municipal Assembly for Ashanti Region of Ghana.[2] Dem appoint am to de position for 2025, wey she be de first woman wey hold de Chief Executive position for de municipality since e start.[3] Ansu marry Alhaji Gariba Ibrahim, wey dem get three kiddies togeda; two boys den one girl.

Early life den education

Ansu cam from Juaben for Ashanti Region. She be de last born for family of three, born to Alfred Prince Tawiah, wey be military officer, den Beatrice Bekoe Boateng, wey be businesswoman.[2]

She start ein education for Sunyani Ridge Experimental School buh she plete ein basic education for Tamale Zogbeli Junior High School for 1993. She study business for Sunyani Senior High School wey she plete am for 1996. After dat, she go pursue Accountancy Diploma for Sunyani Polytechnic, wey dem now dey call Sunyani Technical University, wey she plete am for 2003. She go do ein Bachelor of Arts for marketing for Baptist University, wey later she go pursue Master of Business Administration (MBA) for Marketing for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for 2019.[2]

Career

Ein first professional work be for 2004 for Electoral Commission for Sunyani, wer she work as National Service staff. Later she go work give National Investment Bank (NIB) as Customer Service Officer for de Suame branch. Ansu later rise go cam be Corporate Relationship Manager for de Sunyani branch of NIB for 2019.[2]

Political career

Ansu enter politics for 2018, wer she work as Branch Executive give de National Democratic Congress (NDC). For 2022, she cam be NDC Constituency Executive for de Juaben Constituency. After she gather enough experience, she contest for de 2024 general elections as de Parliamentary Candidate for Juaben Constituency.[2]

On 19 May 2025, Ansu get appointed by H.E. John Dramani Mahama wey dem confirm am as de Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Juaben Constituency, plus 24 "Yes" votes den 1 "No" vote from total 25 Assembly members.[4] She get sworn into office by Judge Rosemarie Afua-Asante, wey be judge for de Juaben Circuit Court.[2]

Agriculture

She launch de "Nkoko Nkitikiti" poultry initiative, wey distribute 10,000 birds to local farmers for January 2026 to help boost local production den food security.[5]

Education

Ansu put priority for improving educational infrastructure, wey include donating white marker boards to schools like Abetenim KG, Primary and Junior High Schools (JHS) to make teaching better.[6]

Environmental protection

She take strong stance against illegal mining (galamsey), wey she form one task force togeda plus Ghana Police Service den traditional authorities to protect forest reserves den water bodies.[7]

Public Safety

Ansu dey lead de work of public safety for ein constituency. She dey appeal make dem re-demarcate de police jurisdictions to fit better fight armed robbery attacks for areas like Nobewam-Bomfa.[8]
