Nyiko Floyd Shivambu (wey dem born on 1 January 1983) be South African politician wey serve as member for National Assembly for de Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) till 15 August 2024, wen e join Jacob Zuma ein uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP). From November 2024, e serve as de MKP ein secretary-general till dem sack am for June 2025.[1][2][3] After dem decide to remove am, Shivambu announce one splinter group wey e call Mayibuye Consultation.[3][4]

Political career

After dat, e turn Students Representative for de Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition from 2006 go 2007 den e be National Executive member insyd South African Students Congress. From 2008 go 2012, e hold two positions: Board Member for de National Student Financial Aid Scheme plus Spokesperson for de African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL). In the 2024 South African general election, Malema stated that a potential EFF-ANC coalition would depend on Shivambu being appointed Minister of Finance. On 18 August 2024 Julius Malema announced Sinawo Tambo as Floyd's replacement in parliament. However, following the election, he instead joined the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, becoming its Secretary General and a Member of Parliament. On 18 August 2024, Malema announced that Sinawo Tambo would replace Shivambu in Parliament.

Shivambu was dismissed as MK's Secretary General in June 2025.

Controversies
