Dem elect Huudu as de Member of Parliament for de Gushiegu/Karaga constituency insyd de 2000 Ghanaian general elections.[2] Dem elect am for de ticket of de National Democratic Congress.[2] Ein constituency be a part of de 18 parliamentary seats out of 23 seats de National Democratic Congress win insyd dat election for de Northern Region.[3][4][5] De National Democratic Congress win a minority total of 92 parliamentary seats out of 200 seats insyd de 3rd parliament of de 4th republic of Ghana.[3] Dem elect am plus 18,524 votes out of 37,264 total valid votes cast. Dis be equivalent to 50.9% of de total valid votes cast.[6] Dem elect am over Rita Tani Iddi of de New Patriotic Party, Alhasan M. Yahaya of de Convention People's Party, Moli Majeed of de People's National Convention, Hamidu S.
