Iftar (Arabic: إفطار, romanized: ifṭār) be de fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims insyd Ramadan for de time of adhan (call to prayer) of de Maghrib prayer.

Description
[edit | edit source]Iftar be one of de religious observances of Ramadan,[2][3][4] wey dem often dey do am as a community, plus Muslim people dey gather make dem break dema fast togeda. Dem dey take de meal just after de call to de Maghrib prayer, wich be around sunset.[3] Traditionally dem dey chop three dates make dem take break de fast, in emulation of de Islamic prophet, Muhammad, wey break ein fast for dis manner, buh dis no be mandatory. Muslims dey believe say feeding sam one iftar as a form of Sadaqah/Zakat/charity be very rewarding wey na such be Muhammad ein practise.[3][4]
Sam Hadith sanso state say Muhammad use to read de dua wey dey follow for iftar:[5]
Dhahaba al-zama’ wa abtalat al-‘urooq wa thabat al-ajr Insha’Allah – "Thirst has gone, the veins are moist, and the reward is assured, if Allah wills."
