Joana Choumali (born 1974) be a freelance photographer wey dey base insyd Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.[1][2] She dey use photography make she explore issues of identity den de diversity of African cultures.[3]

Ein 2014 series, Hââbré, The Last Generation, dey document de last generation of scarified Africans.[4]

Insyd 2019, na dem award am de Prix Pictet for ein series Ça va aller (E go be OK).

Life den work

Na dem born den raise Choumali insyd Abidjan. After she attend local international schools, she study Graphic Arts insyd Casablanca wey she work as an art director insyd an advertising agency before she start ein photography career. Ein style dey include conceptual portraiture, mixed media den documentary.[2] Chaw of ein work dey focus for Africa, ein assumptions about de diversity of cultures around am, den ein expanding conceptions of de world.[3]
