John Young Ghann (dem born am 28 September 1922) be Ghanaian politician. He serve as Minister for Rural Industries for 1965, plus as Minister for Internal Trade from 1965 go 1966.[1][2] He serve too as member of parliament for Adansi-Banka constituency from 1954 go 1965, den as member of parliament for Adansi constituency from 1965 go 1966.

Dem born Ghann on 28 September 1922. He be educated at de St. Peter's Catholic School insyd Kumasi.[3]

Career den politics

Ghann start ein career as typist. He be Treasury Clerk to de Edubiasi Native Authority. Afta he resign, he go study plus qualify as druggist.[3]

Ghann become de first Chairman of de Edubiasi Local Council plus Chairman of de Adansi-Banka District Council for 1953. One year later, dem elect am as member of parliament for de Adansi-Banka constituency.[3][4][5] Before de 1954 parliamentary election, dem dey call de seat Adansi Rural, den N. B. Abubekr be de one wey represent am.[6] For 1956, de Convention People's Party nominate Ghann again make he contest de Adansi-Banka seat under de party ein ticket, den dem re-elect am to represent de constituency for parliament. As he dey parliament, dem appoint Ghann as Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, den later as Deputy Minister for Information plus Broadcasting.[7] On 1 April 1965, Ghann take over de Ministry for Rural Industries, wey be new ministry wey President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah create. But when Andrew Yao Kwasi Djin commot as Minister of Trade, dem split de ministry into two; Ministry of External Trade plus Ministry of Internal Trade. Ghann then become Minister for Internal Trade after he serve less than one month as Minister for Rural Industries. Isaac William Benneh come replace am for dat Rural Industries position.[8] Insyd June 1965, dem make am member of parliament for de Adansi constituency after dem change de constituency ein name from Adansi-Banka go Adansi.[9][10] Ghann serve as Minister for Internal Trade from April 1965 to February 1966, plus at de same time as member of parliament for Adansi constituency from June 1965 to February 1966.
