Jonathan Kwesi Lamptey (dem born am 10 May 1909, ein date of death no dey known) be Ghanaian politician. He be senior figure insyd de Convention People's Party (CPP) but later he join opposition. After dat, he play top roles insyd de government of de second republic.
Early life den education
[edit | edit source]Dem born am for Sekondi. He go school local, wey he attend Mfantsipim School wey he complete for 1931. After dat, he go Exeter University den University of London.[1]
Career
[edit | edit source]Ein career start as science teacher for Fijai Secondary School, Sekondi. He train den practice law.[2] For 1950, he turn deputy chairman of de CPP, den for 1951 dem elect am go de legislative assembly for Sekondi wey he turn junior minister for finance. After de 1966 coup, dem make am Chairman of de State Gold Mining Cooperation.[3] For Second Republic of Ghana, he serve as acting prime minister.[4] He too serve as Minister for Defence from 1969 go 1971 den Minister for Parliamentary Affairs from 1971 go 1972, till de Busia government get overthrow by de SMC. Lamptey too serve as de Leader of de House of parliament of Ghana for 1971.[5] After de 1972 coup, he comot from active politics den continue ein law work for Sekondi.[6]
