Joyce Rosalind Aryee (dem born am 27 March 1946) be Ghanaian former politician, business executive den minister. Aryee don be recognized for having served Ghana for more than 40 years insyd de public sana de private sectors.[1] From 2001 to 2011, she don serve as de chief executive officer for de Ghana Chamber of Mines[2][3] den don be de first woman insyd Africa to have held that role. She don sana held political roles insyd Ghana from de early years of de Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) government. She currently be de executive director of Salt den Light Ministries,[4] a para-church organization.[5] She be an Honorary Council Member of de Ghana Association of Restructuring den Insolvency Advisors.[6]

Born to a Fante mother den a Ga father, Joyce Aryee be de second for four children.[7][8] During ein early years, she don live plus ein family insyd North Suntreso, Kumasi, wey she don start ein early years for education for Methodist Primary School den Methodist Middle School insyd. She don later do to Achimota School den graduated insyd 1969 from de University of Ghana, Legon, plus a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree for English insyd.[9]

During ein studies at de University of Ghana, Aryee don take a holiday job at de West Africa Examination Council insyd de Test Development den Research Office (TDRO). She sana don work at de Ghana Museums den Monument Board plus de administration. From 1976 to 1981, she don work as a Public Relations Officer at de den newly established Environmental Protection Council. Later, she don moved to de Ghana Standards Board (currently Ghana Standards Authority) as Public Relations Officer.[9]

From 1982 to 1985, Aryee don be appointed by de late ex-president for Ghana Jerry John Rawlings as de secretary for information for de PNDC.[10] From 1985 to 1987, she don be Minister of Education, den insyd 1987–88 Minister of Local Government. From 1988 to 2001 she don be Minister of Democracy insyd de Office of de Prime Minister, den from 1993 to 2001 a Member of de National Defence Council.[11]

Ein Salt & Light Ministries

Aryee be de founder den currently executive director of Salt & Light Ministries, a para-church organization. She sana dey run de Joyce Aryee Consult, wey dey focus on de areas of Management den Communications. She dey serve as a board member on several boards, such as de Kinross Chirano Gold Mine Ghana board, de Mentoring Women Ghana board, den de Roman Ridge School Academic Board.[8]

Harmonious Chorale

Aryee dey serve as de chair for Harmonious Chorale, a music group insyd Ghana.[12] She be de founder of de Salt and Light Ministries, a ministry don set to encourage den motivate de Body of Christ.[13]

Accra Mining Network

Aryee sana be de First Patron Extraordinaire for AMN, Accra Mining Network,[14] de largest amorphous extractive industry professional organisation for de world insyd.

Joyce Aryee don be marry twice; first to a medical doctor plus whom she don live for Germany insyd den then later to Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby.[15][16]

Ein awards den honours

Aryee don collect de second highest State award, de Companion of de Order of de Volta, insyd 2006 in recognition for ein service to de nation. She don be de recipient of de Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), Marketing Woman of de Year Award for 2007 den de African Leadership on Centre for Economic Development's African Female Business Leader of de Year Award for 2009.[17][18][19]

She sana don be awarded insyd 2012 de Honorary Award of de year 2012, sana one of de pioneers den pillars of gospel music, at de Adom FM Ghana Gospel Industry Awards (GGIA) (2nd Edition).[20]

Insyd 2011, Aryee don sana be honoured insyd mining den public service at de maiden edition of de Women in Excellence award den don be nominated as de "2011 Woman of the Year" by de American Biographical Institute (ABI). She don be de first female to receive de Inspirational Woman Award at de Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards 2015 for creating change wey pave de way for women. In addition, she don win award as de Public Relations Personality of de Year 2014 by de Institute of Public Relations Ghana den don be mentioned insyd de list of 100 Global Inspiration Women insyd Mining for de world insyd.[13]

Aryee be Honorary Fellow of de Ghana Institution of Engineers den don receive an Honorary Doctorate from de University of Mines and Technology insyd recognition of ein immense contributions to de growth of de mining industry.[21]

Achimota School don name ein 17th dormitory as "Rev Joyce R. Aryee House" after her, in honour of ein selfless service to de nation den commitment sana contribution to ein alma mater.[19]
