Katrina Hanse-Himarwa (22 January 1967 – 14 July 2024) be Namibian politician. A member of de SWAPO party, she serve as Minister of Education, Arts and Culture from 21 March 2015 to 9 July 2019, wey she resign a day after dem convict am of corruption.

Dem born Hanse-Himarwa for 22 January 1967 top for Hoachanas insyd. She start dey work as a teacher for 1987 insyd den later becam head of department den principal. She hold a Basic Education Teacher's Diploma (BETD) wey she obtain for 1995 insyd den a Bachelor for Education Management Technology insyd wey she obtain for 1999 insyd. She begin dey work as teacher den school principal for 1987 insyd.[1]

After she win de Mariental Rural constituency for de 2004 local elections insyd give de SWAPO party, dem appoint am governor of Hardap Region, a position wey she hold til 2015.[1] Hanse-Himarwa be one of de eight presidential appointees to de 6th National Assembly of Namibia to de role of non-voting member of de body.[2] Presido Hage Geingob appoint am minister of Education, Arts and Culture for 21 March 2015 top.[3]

For July 2019 insyd, dem find Hanse-Himarwa guilty of corruption wey she lie under oath. Judge Christie Liebenberg at de Windhoek High Court find say she use ein office give self-gratification while she serve as governor of Hardap Region to remove names wey dem list for a national housing project top in order to favour one of ein relatives. She be represented by a lawyer, Sisa Namandje, wey no dey present during de delivery of de verdict.[4][5]

A day after de verdict for 9 July 2019 top, Hanse-Himarwa resign from ein position as minister of education.[6] Martin Andjaba succeed am for acting position insyd secof de next parliamentary election be only months away.[7] Dem sentence Hanse-Himarwa to a fine of N$50 000 for 31 July 2019 at de Windhoek High Court, wey she cam be de third high-ranking member of de SWAPO Party since Tobie Aupindi den Marina Kandumbu wey dem sentence. She retain ein seat for parliament insyd.[8][9]

Hanse-Himarwa die from cancer for 14 July 2024, at de age of 57.[10] She receive an official funeral from Presido Nangolo Mbumba wey dem bury am for Mariental insyd.[11][12]
