 Kenneth Rasalabe Joseph Meshoe (dem born am 18 January 1954) be South African evangelist, politician, reverend den teacher. Since 1993, he dey serve as de first leader for de African Christian Democratic Party, wey be Christian democratic political party. He become Member of Parliament insyd 1994, den since den he win re-election five times. He be one of de longest-serving MPs.

Early life, education den career

Dem born Meshoe on 18 January 1954 insyd Pretoria, South Africa. He finish high school insyd 1972, den he go study insyd University of de North wey he take get Secondary Teachers Diploma insyd 1975. After dat, he work as teacher for some years.[1]

He plus ein wife, Lydia, join Christ for all Nations insyd 1976. For February 1980, he get work as one of Reinhard Bonnke ein associate evangelists. He complete ein second-year Theological Diploma for Shekinah Bible Institute for Kingsport insyd US state of Tennessee insyd 1987.[1]

He establish ein church, Hope of Glory Tabernacle, insyd 1988 when he come back to South Africa.[1] For 1994, Bethel Christian College for Riverside, California, award am Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of Humane Letters). Dem sana appoint am make he serve as Associate Member for Board of Regents for Bethel College.

Political career

Meshoe establish de ACDP for December 1993. De party take part for de 1994 general elections den win two seats insyd de new National Assembly. Meshoe take one of de seats.[1]

De party ein support reach top level for de 2004 general election when dem win seven parliamentary seats den get representation for six provincial legislatures. Meshoe take re-election as MP after de 2004 election. But after dat, de ACDP start dey go down small small for every election. De party manage stop de fall small for de 2019 general election.[2] Right now, Meshoe dey serve ein sixth term as MP.[3] He be member for de Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation.[4]

Meshoe vote against de adoption of de final version of de South African constitution insyd 1996.[5] He too dey against abortion.[6] He vote against make dem legalise same-sex marriage insyd South Africa.[7]

Meshoe show support for de former DA mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, Athol Trollip.[8] He too talk about de matter of farm murders.[9]

Meshoe support de State of Israel.[10] He talk say de claim say Israel be apartheid state be “slanderous” plus “deceptive”. According to Meshoe, dis kind talk dey make de word apartheid lose ein weight den e dey downplay de real racism den suffer wey non-white South Africans go through during de apartheid time.[11]

Lydia before serve as ACDP ein representative insyd de Gauteng Provincial Legislature.[12] On 25 January 2023, ACDP announce say Lydia die.[13] Reverend Meshoe marry again Wonkie Ncoco, former ANC MP, insyd 2024.

Meshoe take COVID-19 test on 22 March 2020 after he go one religious gathering for Free State wey five infected international guests dey.[14][15] ACDP ein deputy leader Wayne Thring announce on 27 March say Meshoe plus ein party member Steven Swart test positive for de virus. Meshoe no show any symptoms, but Swart get flu-like symptoms. Dem be de first South African MPs wey test positive for de virus.[16][17]
