Lombe Phyllis Chibesakunda (born 5 May 1944) be a Zambian lawyer den diplomat. Na she be de chairperson of de Human Rights Commission of Zambia, Solicitor General, Deputy Minister insyd de Ministry of Legal Affairs, acting Chief Justice of Zambia, wey na she serve as an Ambassador to Japan, de United Kingdom, de Vatican, den de Netherlands.[1] Chibesakunda be de first woman presido of de Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Court of Justice insyd Khartoum, Sudan.

[edit | edit source]Na dem born Lombe Phyllis Chibesakunda insyd Zambia for 5 May 1944.[2][3] She dey cam from Chibesakunda royal family. Chibesakunda be a chief insyd de Muchinga Province of de Bisa ethnic group, one of de chaw dialects of northern Zambia. She attend Chibesakunda and Pandala Primary School insyd Northern Zambia. She later go Chipembi Girls wer na she serve as Head Girl, then later she study for de National Institute of Public Administration insyd Lusaka den Gray's Inn insyd England.[3]
Career
[edit | edit source]Chibesakunda be a woman of ‘firsts’. She cam turn de first female Zambian lawyer den State Advocate insyd de Ministry of Legal Affairs. Na she be a parliamentary candidate for de Matero constituency den Solicitor-General of de Republic of Zambia insyd 1973.
