Maame Sarfoah Appiah[1] be Ghanaian politician den public servant. Currently, she be de Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for de Asante-Akim South Municipal Assembly for de Ashanti Region of Ghana. Dem appoint am for May 2024 wey dem swear am in for 2025, wey dis make am de first woman wey take dis position since dem create de district den start de decentralization of de country for 1988.[2]

Maame Sarfoah Appiah contest for parliamentary seat for de Asante-Akim South Constituency two times for de NDC ticket. Edey sad say she no win, but ein hard work den commitment to de grassroots make people for de region recognize den respect am. Ein deep knowledge about de problems wey dey affect people for de region help am prepare well for dis position for local government.[2]

Sake of say dem wan promote gender inclusion for de country ein local governance, de President of de Republic of Ghana nominate Maame Sarfoah Appiah make she lead de Asante-Akim South Municipal Assembly.[2][3]

De General Assembly vote for Maame Sarfoah Appiah ein nomination on May 15, 2025. She get 59 out of 66 votes from members wey come de assembly, wey represent 89% of de total votes. Dis high number of votes come from members of different political parties, wey chaw groups like women, traditional leaders, den de youth hail am well. Dem all gather for de assembly grounds say make dem witness dis historic moment.[3]
