Mandisa Sibongile Mashego (wey dem born am 26 August 1973) na South African politician plus feminist. She be former member of de Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), den she serve as de party ein provincial chairperson for Gauteng from 2018 go 2020. She sana be Member of de Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2014 go 2020.[1]

Political career

Mashego join African National Congress (ANC) while she still dey school. She comot from de ANC for 2012, den shortly afta she join EFF. For 2014, dem elect am as Member of de Gauteng Provincial Legislature, den de following year, dem make am acting provincial chairperson for EFF afta Zorro Boshielo resign. For 2018, dem elect Mashego as provincial chairperson for full term, wey make am de party ein second elected woman wey hold dat position.[3]

Mashego dey call einself feminist den person wey dey against patriarchy. For one interview she do plus Mail & Guardian, she talk say de way dem replace de party ein first woman provincial chairperson, Betty Diale, "saddened" am.[4]

Insyd April 2020, Mashego talk say she dey support make dem bring back death penalty for South Africa.[5]

Tensions plus Julius Malema

Then for December 2019, wey be de time for EFF ein national elective conference, Mashego stand against Marshall Dlamini for de Secretary-General position. Dis move bring tension between her den de party ein leader Julius Malema. Later, Malema tweet something wey make people speculate say Mashego dey plan go join former Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba ein party.[6]

Insyd February 2020, Sunday World newspaper talk say Mashego resign from ein position as provincial chairperson plus Member for de Gauteng Provincial Legislature. But EFF deny dis report, den Mashego too later talk say she no resign.[7][8][9]

Then for 31 March 2020, Mashego really resign from ein position as EFF provincial chairperson plus from de provincial legislature. Dem name Deputy Chairperson Itani Mukwevho as de person wey go take over.[10][11] Insyd August 2020, Mashego show face for de launch of Mashaba ein political party, ActionSA.[12]

Then for January 2021, Mashego announce say she join Abantu Batho Congress.[13]
