[edit | edit source]Ngila Michael Muendane be former anti-apartheid activist wey dem imprison for Robben Island on sabotage charge from 1963 go 1970.[2] After ein release, e turn businessman plus media personality until December 1996, wey dem elect am as secretary-general of de Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), under de leadership of party president Stanley Mogoba.[3] Even though dem no elect am go de National Assembly during de 1994 general election,[4] e later take over one vacancy inside PAC ein caucus.[5]
Before de 1999 general election, Muendane be de PAC ein candidate for Premier of Gauteng,[6] but de party no win any seat for de province. For de national level, dem put ein name third for de party ein national list, wey suppose guarantee am one of de three seats PAC win for Parliament. But after de election, PAC withdraw ein name without consult am, replace am with de next-ranked candidate, Patricia de Lille. De party talk say dem dey move am go headquarters make e focus on preparation for de 2000 local elections.[7]
Muendane still dey active for PAC affairs after dat, plus later e serve as de party ein deputy president.[8]
