She win de parliamentary elections wey na dem appoint am Vice President on 12 November 2010 dey follow de death of Vice President Angidi Chettiar. Dem elect am unanimously by all members of de National Assembly make she cam be de first female Vice President of Mauritius. Ohsan Bellepeau be a member of de Mauritian Labor Party wey she later cam be de President of de Party. She be de daughter of Bartholomée Ohsan, wey be a founding member of de party.
On 30 March 2012, Mauritius president Anerood Jugnauth resign after a feud plus de country ein prime minister, wey lef de presidential chair to vice-president Ohsan Bellepeau.[2] She be succeeded as president by Kailash Purryag on 21 July 2012.
On 29 May 2015, President Kailash Purryag resign, wey san lef de presidential chair to vice-president Ohsan Bellepeau. She be succeeded as president by Ameenah Gurib on 5 June 2015.
