Moses Amadu Yahaya be Ghanaian building technician, politician, den former Member of Parliament for Kumbungu constituency insyd Northern Region of Ghana. He be member of Convention People's Party (CPP).[1][2][3][4]

Professional life

Yahaya work as development worker for Tolon-Kumbungu District insyd Northern Region. From 1996 to 2006, he work plus international NGO called Ghanaian Danish Community Programme as development officer. Afta ein contract end plus Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), he go work for Kings Village, anoda international NGO wey dey help for community education den health. He work hard to improve de quality of life for de people insyd de district till dem appoint am as acting Country Director of de NGO, before dem elect am as Member of Parliament. He currently dey serve as Eastern Regional Manager for National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) from 2017 till now.[5]

Moses Yahaya ein relationship plus de British Army, plus support from UK-based organization 58AI, help am drill 67 boreholes for 32 communities insyd Tolon-Kumbungu District. He lobby for 136 boreholes for 116 communities insyd Kumbungu area den connect 7 communities to pipe borne water. He sana secure loans for women groups to help dem develop self-help financial activities.

As he dey work plus The King's Village, Ghana, Yahaya develop interest for politics. He serve as assemblyman for Saakuba Electoral Area, one of de communities insyd Kumbungu constituency.

2012 election

During de 2012 presidential plus parliamentary elections, Yahaya stand on de ticket of Convention People's Party (CPP) den contest de seat plus four other candidates: Muhammad Mumuni of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abdulai Mohammed Saani of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhassan Abukari of Progressive People's Party (PPP), den Imoro Issahaku of National Democratic Party (NDP). Muhammad Mumuni win de election plus majority of 18,285 votes, while Yahaya get 4,134 of de total votes cast, wey be 12.79%.

2013 by-election

Insyd 2013, de Electoral Commission announce say dem go hold by-election for Kumbungu to fill de vacant parliamentary seat. De seat turn vacant after de incumbent MP, Muhammad Mumuni, get appointment as Secretary-General of de Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) den African Caribbean Pacific (ACP) countries, to complete de tenure of Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas. Yahaya contest de by-election against two other candidates: Imoro Yakubu Kakpagu of de NDC, den Ahmed Nasiru Mohammed of de Progressive People's Party (PPP). Yahaya win de election with 13,029 votes, wey represent 51.80% of de total votes cast. He come become de only Convention People’s Party (CPP) Member of Parliament for de 2013 to 2017 term.
