Nana Akosua Frimpomaa be Ghanaian politician. She be de leader of de Convention People's Party den she be demma presidential candidate for de 2024 Ghanaian general election.

Early life den education

Dem born Frimpomaa insyd February 1956 insyd Accra but ein parents come from Dormaa.[1] She attend Mfantsiman Girls' Secondary School for Saltpond. She continue ein education go Kumasi Polytechnic (wey now be Kumasi Technical University) wey she obtain Diploma in Business Studies. Later, she travel go United States to further ein education.[2][3] She study for different institutions including de Washington School for Secretaries, de Montgomery Community College den de University of Notre Dame.[1][3]

Career

Frimpomaa work as staff for Working Mothers Incorporated, one employment agency insyd de United States. She sana work plus de Optimum Care Agency, also for de United States, wey dey recruit nurses for different institutions. She sana work plus de University of Maryland Early Childhood Department. There, she dey involved in developing one programme wey integrate babysitting into undergraduate studies.

Wen she come back to Ghana, she found Caring Kids International, wey dey focus on education of children den youth for Ghana. She be one of de founding members of de 31st December Women's Movement wey Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings lead, den she serve as de National Organizer. She found other organisations too, like de Youth in Excellence Service for Mother Ghana (YES), one volunteer youth corp wey promote reading clubs, den de Human Potential Community College. De reading club idea later get adopt by Christine Churcher wey be de Minister for Education (Ghana) by den.[4]

Frimpomaa dey do philanthropy work, especially support education for de Kadjebi District insyd de Oti Region, den financial plus educational support for de Dormaa Central Municipal District insyd de Bono Region.

Politics

For 2024, Frimpomaa get nominate by de CPP make she be demma presidential candidate. She file ein papers plus de Electoral Commission of Ghana on 12 September 2024.[5] She pledge say ein policies go base on de foundation wey Kwame Nkrumah—founder of de party den first president of Ghana—lay down.[6] She come fifth for de presidential election wey she get 0.2% of de vote.[7]
