Classification

[edit | edit source]

De newest version of de International Classification of Sleep Disorders (ICSD, 3rd. Ed.) dey use State Dissociation as de paradigm give parasomnias.[1][2] Unlike before, wer na wakefulness, non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, den rapid eye movement (REM) sleep be considered exclusive states, na research show say combinations of dese states be possible den thus fi result in unusual unstable states wey eventually fi manifest as parasomnias anaa as altered levels of awareness.[1][3][4][5][6][7]

Although de previous definition be technically correct, e dey contain flaws. De consideration of de State Dissociation paradigm dey facilitate de understanding of de sleep disorder den dey provide a classification of 10 core categories.[1][2]
