Rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder, anaa REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD), be a sleep disorder insyd wich people dey act out dema dreams. E dey involve abnormal behavior during de sleep phase plus rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. De major feature of RBD be loss of muscle atonia (i.e., de loss of paralysis) during otherwise intact REM sleep (during wich paralysis no be normal per buh necessary). De loss of motor inhibition dey lead to sleep behaviors wey dey range from simple limb twitches to more complex integrated movements wey fi be violent anaa result in injury to either de individual anaa dema bedmates.[1][2]
RBD be a very strong predictor of progression to a synucleinopathy (usually Parkinson's disease anaa dementia plus Lewy bodies).[3][4] Melatonin be useful insyd de treatment of RBD.[5] Na dem first describe RBD insyd 1986.
