Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga (born 24 May 1956) be a Ugandan lawyer den politician wey serve as de Speaker of de Parliament of Uganda from 19 May 2011 til 21 May 2021. She currently dey serve as de First Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda. She concurrently dey serve as Minister for East African Community Affairs, insyd de Cabinet of Uganda.[1]
She be de first woman dem elect Speaker insyd de history of de Parliament of Uganda. Na she succeed Edward Ssekandi, wey serve as Speaker from 2001 to 2011.[2][3]
She sanso be de current Member of Parliament (MP) for de Kamuli District Women's Constituency, Busoga sub-region, a position she hold since 1989.[4][5]

She study law for Makerere University, wey she graduate plus de degree of Bachelor of Laws (LLB), insyd 1978. She go go obtain a Diploma in Legal Practice from de Law Development Center insyd Kampala insyd 1979. Insyd 2000, she obtain a Diploma in Women's Law from de University of Zimbabwe. Insyd 2003, she obtain de degree of Master of Arts (MA), wey she specialize insyd Women's Law, sanso be from de University of Zimbabwe.[6] Insyd 2019, Nkumba University, a private university insyd Uganda, award Kadaga an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.[7]
Work experience

Between 1984 den 1988, na she dey insyd private law practice. From 1989 to 1996, she serve as de member of parliament for Kamuli District insyd de District Woman's Constituency. She serve as de Chairperson of de University Council for Mbarara University between 1993 den 1996. Insyd 1996, she serve as Secretary General of de East African Women Parliamentarians Association.
