Sabina Wanjirū Chege (wey dem born 22 August 1978) be Kenyan politician wey before she dey act for television den dey present for radio. She be member for Kenyan Parliament.[1]

She serve as Woman Representative for National Assembly wey cover Murang'a County (2013-2022).

Sabina Wanjirū Chege go Our Lady Consolata Mūgoiri Girls High School wey dey Murang'a County,[2] and after that, she go Kenya Institute of Management den University of Nairobi, where she collect Bachelor of Education degree plus master’s degree for communication.[1] Before she enter politics, na she dey act for television soap Tausi, where she play Rehema. After that, she work as radio presenter for Coro FM, den later she do radio management for Kameme FM and Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.[3] She marry wey she get three kiddies.[4]

Political career

She win election enter National Assembly as women’s representative for Mūrang'a County insyd 2013, wey she collect 96.6% of de vote. She be de member of National Alliance party. For 2017 general election, she win again, dis time as member of Jubilee Party. De Jubilee party wey dem form for 2016 be de one wey replace Jubilee Alliance, na coalition of plenti political parties, den Chege's National Alliance, dey insyd am.[5] For ein first term for parliament insyd, she be chairperson of de Departmental Committee on Education, Research & Technology den a member of de Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee. Since 2017 she serve as chairperson of de Parliamentary Committee for Health top.[6][7]

For 2019 insyd, she sponsor de Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service Bill wey commercialize blood transfusions den created a new national body to coordinate blood donations nationally. De Kenya National Union of Medical Laboratory Officers criticize dis move.[8] She sanso sponsor de Breastfeeding Mothers Bill dat go require employers to provide facilities den breaks give employees wey be breastfeeding.[9] For September 2024 top, she sponsor de Horticultural Crops Authority Bill 2024 dat seek to introduce licensing, regulation, postharvest handling, den marketing by a Horticultural Crops Authority.
