[edit | edit source]Dem born Alhassan for July 6, 1974 to Fawzia den Abdul Alhassan insyd Accra, Ghana.[2] She graduate from Springbrook High School insyd 1992.[2] She earn a B.S. insyd psychology den exercise science from Stetson University insyd 1996.[2][3] Alhassan receive a M.S. (2000) den Ph.D. insyd exercise physiology (2004) from Auburn University.[3] Dem title ein dissertation, The Independent and Combined Effects of Dietary Plant Stanol Ester Margarine Supplementation and Aerobic Exercise Training on Markers of Blood Lipid Metabolism in Middle-Aged Men and Women.[2] Peter W. Grandjean be Alhassan ein doctoral advisor.[2] She be a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine.[3]
Career
[edit | edit source]Since 2007, she dey work as professor, den since 2015, she be graduate program director for kinesiology department for University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences.[3][4] For 2023 insyd, she cam be de associate dean for inclusion den engagement of de graduate school.[5] Dem elect Alhassan a fellow of de National Academy of Kinesiology insyd 2023.[4] She be an editor of de Journal of Physical Activity and Health.[3][4]
Alhassan remain a board member of several American College of Sports Medicine committees.[6]
