Tamale College of Education be a teacher education college insyd Tamale (Sagnarigu District, Northern Region, Ghana).[1][2] De college dey locate insyd Northern Zone zone. E be one of de 46 public colleges of education insyd Ghana.[2] De college participate insyd de DFID-funded T-TEL programme.[3] For de 2018/2019 academic year, de institution receive 1086 admission applications but dey admit 543. Dem dey reject de rest because Dem get infrastructural challenges.[2]
History
[edit | edit source]Tamale College of Education dey locate within de Education Ridge insyd de Tamale, Ghana Metropolis. Dem dey open am insyd 1958 plus de motto ‘ORA ET LABORA’ by de first president of de Republic of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Sixty female pioneer students dey enroll insyd de college dat year, den e remain a female institution until 1977 wen e becam a mixed institution.[4]
De first principal of de college be Miss Freda Mischler, a Swiss Missionary.[4]
Tamale College of Education dey get staff den students’ accommodation. E get academic facilities such as Science Laboratory, Library, Assembly Hall, ICT centre plus internet facilities. De college get a 4WD Nissan Patrol, a Benz Bus den a 58-seater Tata bus.[4]
