Vuyokazi Ketabahle (1973/1974 – 21 January 2023) be South African politician wey serve as Member of de National Assembly of South Africa for Economic Freedom Fighters party from January 2015 till August 2018, when she resign from de party.
Early life
[edit | edit source]Ketabhle ein hometown be Dutywa insyd de Eastern Cape. She matriculate from JS Skenjane High School.[1]
Political career
[edit | edit source]Ketabahle start ein political career for Mbhashe Local Municipality, where she become member of de African National Congress Youth League. Ketabahle resign from de ANC Youth League afta dem expel de league ein former president, Julius Malema, insyd 2012. She be one of de founding members of Malema ein Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party insyd 2013; she then get appoint as commissar for home affairs den work for Eastern Cape legislature ein administration. For EFF ein National People’s Assembly wey happen insyd December 2014, she get elect go de party ein highest decision-making body, de Central Command Team.[2]
Parliamentary career
[edit | edit source]On 21 January 2015, Ketabahle take ein oath as EFF Member of de National Assembly, wey she replace Magdelene Moonsamy.[3][4] During ein time for parliament, she be alternate member for de Portfolio Committee on Tourism den member of de Portfolio Committee on Telecommunications and Postal Services. She sana serve small time for de Portfolio Committee on Social Development.
Ketabahle resign from Parliament den from EFF on 31 August 2018 den she go back join ein local ANC branch for Mbhashe municipality. Nelson Mandela Bay EFF councillor, Yoliswa Yako, take up ein seat for de National Assembly.[5]
Death
[edit | edit source]Ketabahle die following a stroke on 21 January 2023, at de age of 49.
