Xerostomia, dem sanso know as dry mouth, be a subjective complaint of dryness insyd de mouth, wich fi be associated plus a change insyd de composition of saliva, reduced salivary flow, anaa e get no identifiable cause.[1]

Dis symptom be very common wey na dem often dey see am as a side effect of chaw types of medication. E be more common insyd older people (mostly secof individuals insyd dis group be more likely to take several medications) den insyd people wey dey breathe thru dema mouths. Dehydration, radiotherapy wey dey involve de salivary glands, chemotherapy den chaw diseases fi cause reduced salivation (hyposalivation), anaa a change insyd saliva consistency den hence a complaint of xerostomia. Sam times der be no identifiable cause, wey der sometimes fi be a psychogenic reason for de complaint.[1]
