Yendi Senior High School (YESS) be a coeducational secondary school insyd Yendi insyd de Northern Region of Ghana.[1][2] De school dey establish insyd 1970, first as a middle-boarding school to enable access to basic education for communities insyd de Eastern Corridor enclave, before na dem upgrade am insyd September of de same year to de status of a secondary school. For de first academic year, na de school get a total student population of 77 per, plus 70 boys den seven girls. De first headmaster of de school be Cletus Bernard Teviu. He dey head de school for nearly a decade, wey dey span between 1970 den 1979, den one of de hostels insyd de school dem name insyd ein honour. Insyd de year 2020 wen de school celebrate ein 50th anniversary, de total student population be 2,724 den de number of teachers be 121.[3] De school dey operate as a boarding school, buh few students attend as day students.
History
[edit | edit source]As of 2016, de school dey get a girls' dormitory plus 500 students.[4][5]
Insyd 2018, Alhaji Faruok Aliu Mahama donate GH¢ 10,000.00 to de school for a water project.[6]
De Jubilee Park at de school dey dey use insyd January 2019 as part of de coronation process for Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama as king of Dagbon.[7]
