Yoliswa Nomampondomise Yako (wey dem born on 22 March 1983) be South African politician from de Eastern Cape wey serve as Member of de National Assembly of South Africa. She take office as MP on 3 September 2018. Before dat, Yako be PR councillor for de Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality den chairperson of de municipality ein Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC). Yako be member of de Economic Freedom Fighters.

Background

Dem born Yako on 22 March 1983. She join de Economic Freedom Fighters insyd 2014 den dem elect am as councillor for de Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality insyd August 2016.[1] For 2018, she get elect as chairperson for de municipality ein Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC).

Parliamentary career

On 3 September 2018, Yako take oath as Member of de National Assembly of South Africa for de EFF, wey she take over from Vuyokazi Ketabahle. Nosipho Ncana replace am as councillor for Nelson Mandela Bay. Dem assign Yako to de Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources. She give ein first speech ontop de #FeesMustFall activists, wey dem either jail or sack from university.[2]

Yako get elect for full term as MP insyd May 2019. On 27 June 2019, she receive new committee assignments. For de 2024 general election, she no rank high for EFF ein national list to return go parliament. But as plenty EFF MPs wey dem choose no gree take seat for National Assembly, e make Yako come return go Parliament. Later she comot from de post insyd July 2024.[3]

She dey openly queer.
