D. Denenge Duyst-Akpem be an afro-futurist artist, writer, den educator. Na Duyst-Akpem be a recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship for de Institute on Black Aesthetics and Sacred Systems.[8] She sanso receive both a Marion Kryczka Excellence in Teaching Award den Teaching Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion from SAIC.[9] Na Duyst-Akpem be a 2017 Place Lab Fellow, Rebuild Foundation plus U-Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.
