Jenny Rakotomamonjy (born 1979), wey chaw bell am by de pen name Jenny, be a Malagasy-born French cartoonist den animator. Na she be a co-founder of de Chibimag comics studio.[1]

Biography

Dem born Jenny Rakotomamonjy insyd Antananarivo, Madagascar, insyd 1979. At age 3, she leave de island plus ein parents den move go de Paris suburbs.[1] She study art at de University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne's Saint-Charles Center, then complete a two-year program on animation at Gobelins, l'École de l'image.[2]

Insyd 2002 Jenny, hu signs ein to work plus only ein first name, produce ein first animate short, Le Papillon, plus Antoine Antin.[2] De short be choose for de Canal J Prize at dat year's Annecy International Animation Film Festival.[3] Shortly thereafter, she get hire by Marathon Animation to work on character design for de series Martin Mystery den storyboards for Totally Spies! [4]

Jenny release ein first comic, de shojo manga-style Pink Diary, insyd 2005.[3] De Pink Diary series, wey dey publish by Delcourt insyd France,[5] win de 2006 prize for Best Manga-Style Bande Dessinée from de French magazine Animeland.[6] It ran through 2008,[3] after wich Jenny launch a new series, Mathilde,[7] wey follow by Sara et les Contes perdus.[8] She san dey work on a spin-off of Patricia Lyfoung's La Rose écarlate series.[9]


She san insyd 2003 becam a founding member of de Chibimag comics studio, through wich she dey collaborate on various comic fanzines.[1]

Jenny lives insyd Eure-et-Loir, France,[10] where she frequently collaborates plus plus husband, de fellow comics creator Alexis Coridun.[1]
