De university dey under development for 22 acres (9 ha) plot of land top insyd Konza Technology City, insyd Machakos County, close to de county ein borders plus Makueni County den Kajiado County.[1][2][3] Dis be approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi), by road, south-east of de central business district of Nairobi, Kenya ein capital city, along de Nairobi–Mombasa Road.[4]

De Government of Kenya, in collaboration plus de county governments of Machakos, Makueni den Kajiado counties, den de Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), plan make dem establish advanced institute of science den technology. Dem plan make de institute be all-postgraduate research public university.[5]

After competitive bidding, de Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology win de bid make dem design de university curriculum. Consortium of two Korean architectural den engineering firms of "Samoo" den "Sunjin", win de bid make dem design den construct de university campus. Na dem sign those contracts insyd November 2018.[5]

Construction den funding[edit | edit source]

Dem fund de construction by KSh10 billion (US$72 million) loan from de Export–Import Bank of Korea to de Kenyan government. Dem dey expect make de facilities be ready insyd 2021, plus de first intake of 200 postgraduate students wey dey start classes insyd 2022.[5]
