Kyambogo University (KYU) be public varsity wey dey Uganda. Ebe one of de eight public varsities den degree-awarding institutions for decountry insyd plus de motto, "Knowledge den Skills give Service - (Knowledge and Skills for Service)."

Demma History[edit | edit source]

Dem establish Kyambogo University for 2003 plus de Varsities den Oda Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 by say dem merge Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo (UPK), de Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo (ITEK), den de Uganda Nationalstitute of Special Education (UNISE).[1]

Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo[edit | edit source]

For 1928 insyd, dem split off de trade den technical courses for Makerere College (now Makerere University) go de new Kampala Technical School.[2] De school move go Nakawa wey ecam turn de Kampala Technical Institute.[3] For 1958 nsyd, dem move dat school go Kyambogo wey dem rename am as Uganda Technical College wey dem finally rename am as Uganda Polytechnic, Kyambogo.

Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo[edit | edit source]

ITEK start as government teacher training college for 1948 insyd for Nyakasura, Kabarole District. For 1954 insyd, dem transfer am go Kyambogo Hill as national teachers’ college wey later ecam turn ITEK by statute of parliament for 1989 insyd.[4]

Uganda National Institute of Special Education[edit | edit source]

Na UNISE be affiliate plus Department of Special Education for de faculty of education of Makerere University, wey ecam turn autonomous institution by Act of Parliament for 1998 insyd.

De university campus dey Kyambogo Hill, approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi), by road, east of de central business district of Kampala, de capital city of Uganda.[5] De geographical coordinates of de university campus be:0°21'00.0"N, 32°37'48.0"E (Latitude:0.350000; Longitude:32.630000).[6]
