Lira University (LU) be university insyd Uganda. Ebe one of de eleven public universities den degree-awarding institutions insyd de country.[1]
Location
[edit | edit source]De university campus dey locate for approximately 500 acres (202 ha) of land top, about 11 kilometres (7 mi), by road, northwest of downtown, Lira off of de Lira–Kamdini Road.[2] De coordinates of de university campus be 2°15'04.0"N, 32°49'16.0"E (Latitude:2.251111; Longitude:32.821111).[3]
History
[edit | edit source]De university first open insyd August 2012 plus 100 students.[4] For dat time, na de institution be constituent college of Gulu University wey na dem know am as Gulu University Constituent College Lira.[5] Na dem sanso refer to am as Lira University College.[6]
Insyd June 2015, de Uganda Ministry of Education elevate de college to university status, effective plus de 2016-17 academic year wey begin insyd August 2016.[7]
