Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) (Chuo Kikuu cha Afya na Sayansi Shirikishi Muhimbili, insyd Swahili) be public university wey dey locate insyd Upanga West, Ilala District of Dar es Salaam Region insyd Tanzania. Location

As of June 2018, de university get two campuses:

  • De Main Campus along United Nations Road, insyd Upanga West, insyd de city of Dar es Salaam.[2]
  • De Mloganzila Campus, approximately 31 kilometres (19 mi) west of Muhimbili Hospital, along de A-7 Highway.[3] Dis campus dey host 571-bed, state-of-art teaching hospital.[4][5]

History

De Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences dey trace ein origins to 1963, wen e gbele as Dar es Salaam Medical School. De school cam turn de faculty of medicine of de University of Dar es Salaam, insyd 1968. Insyd 1976, na dem incorporate de Faculty of Medicine into Muhimbili Hospital make e form de Muhimbili Medical Centre (MMC).[2]

De Parliament Act No. 9 of 1991, dem upgrade de faculty to college of Dar es Salaam, de Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS).
