Muni University (MU) be public multi-campus university insyd Uganda.[1] Ebe one of de public universities den degree-awarding institutions insyd de country, dem license den supervise by de Uganda National Council for Higher Education (UNCHE).[2]

Muni University get ein main campus for Muni Hill insyd de city of Arua insyd Arua District, West Nile sub-region, insyd de Northern Region of Uganda. For subsequent bilateral meetings between de Ugandan government den stakeholders from de sub-region, na dem identify set of core undergraduate courses make dem anchor de founding of de institution. Insyd 2009, de Ugandan government, thru de Ministry of Education, consent to de creation of de university. Na dem create three-person task force make dem establish de university, plus starting date of January 2012. Na dat task force be headed by Christine Dranzoa, de vice chancellor of de university wey dey include Dr. Lam Lagoro den Fr. Epiphany Picho.[7] Initially, na dem name de university West Nile University, buh after wider consultations, na dem change name go Muni University.[8]

Academic courses[edit | edit source]

MU dey identify de undergraduate courses wey dey follow make dem offe insyd de academic year 2015/2016:[9]

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
  • Bachelor of Information Systems
  • Bachelor of Science plus Education
  • Bachelor of Nursing Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
  • Bachelor of Business Management den Entrepreneurship.
  • According to Education News Uganda, Muni University sign Memorandum of Understanding plus AfriChild Centre make dem enhance research.[10]

Fresh courses under development as of February 2019, dey pend approval of de UNCHE dey include:[11]

  • Bachelor of Science in Vocational den Technical Education.

Student intake[edit | edit source]

Na dem dey expect MU make e admit ein first batch of undergraduate students during de 2013/2014 academic year, dey begin insyd August/September 2013.[12] After one-year delay, dem admit de first class of 100 students insyd November 2014.[13] Dem admit anoda 100 students insyd August 2015.[14]

Insyd November 2018, de university graduate ein second class of graduates, wey dey number 92, increase from de first graduating class of 77, insyd 2017. For dat time na two courses per wey dey for offer top; de Bachelor of Information Systems den Bachelors of Science in Information Technology.[11]
