Career
[edit | edit source]He be de founder of de nonprofit ARTWITHAKIRASH insyd 2000, wich dey invite de community make dem participate insyd ein performance art.
He move go Austin, Texas, insyd 2011.[1] One example of ein public performance art be ein 2013 walk from CentralTrak to de Magnolia Hotel insyd Dallas wey he dey wear tape den water bottles. Wen he arrive at de Pegasus Plaza at de Magnolia Hotel: " na [h]e dey walk around a massive canvas wey dey cover insyd strips den piles of cloth wey be surround by little Ziploc bags of paint. Akirash pick one up, twist am into de shape of an icing bag wey he bite de corner off, wey he hold am about penis-level wey he pretend he dey pee color onto de canvas, wey dey sway back ein forth like a boy wey dey piss into a lake."[2] He then dey invite de crowd make dem participate insyd painting.
Insyd 2018 Akirash install a piece wey dey call "Masquerades Mythologies" at de Lawndale Art Center.[3]
