For 5 September 1989 insyd, sam group of black officers wey dey South African Police isnyd defy orders wey dem refuse say dem go attack anti-apartheid protesters. Sam of them work plus sam group of prison warders wey dem find POPCRU, for November insyd. De new unions no fi secure recognition, wey dem dismiss dema leaders chao, wey sam too dem imprison dem. For 1993 insyd, dem finally achieve recognition.[1]

POPCRU be sam affiliate give de Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU).
