De University of Eswatini (anaa UNESWA; formerly dem know as de University of Swaziland, anaa UNISWA) be de national versity of Eswatini.

Na dem establish by act of parliament insyd 1982.[1] De varsity develop from de University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland (UBLS), formerly dem know as de University of Basutoland, Bechuanaland and Swaziland (UBBS), wey na dem establish insyd 1964.[2] E cam turn de University of Botswana and Swaziland wen de Lesotho campus withdraw to form de National University of Lesotho for 20 October 1975, wey e cam turn independent national varsity insyd 1982.[2]

De varsity get eight faculties, wich dey locate insyd de three campuses of de varsity. Luyengo campus dey house de Agriculture and Consumer Sciences faculties, Mbabane campus be home to de faculty of Health Sciences, den Kwaluseni campus be de main campus. De varsity of Eswatini be mainly undergraduate institution, wey dey offer bachelor's degrees. Der be few postgraduate programmes wey dey include two Ph.D. programmes.

De head of de varsity be de Chancellor, wey be His Majesty King Mswati III. Ein daily management be de responsibility of de Vice Chancellor, wey be Professor Justice Thwala.[3] UNISWA be home to research centers den institutes.[4] De varsity sanso dey publish research periodicals such as de UNISWA Research Journal of Agriculture, Science and Technology den de UNISWA Research Journal.[5][6]

De three campuses dey within 40 kilometers of each oda:

  • Kwaluseni campus be de main campus, plus de faculties of commerce, humanities, social science, education den science.
  • Luyengo campus na ebe formerly de Swaziland Agricultural College and University Centre (SACUC), den de location of de faculty of agriculture den consumer sciences.
  • Mbabane campus na ebe formerly Swaziland ein Institute of Health Sciences, den de location of de varsity ein faculty of health sciences; edey include nursing school, midwifery programme den de environmental studies programme.

Dem divide de varsity into de faculties of Agriculture, Consumer Sciences, Health Sciences, Education, Humanities, Commerce, Science & Engineering, den Social Science. Der sanso be de Institute of Distance Education (IDE) wey be responsible for all distance education instruction. De Institute of Postgraduate Studies be responsible for postgraduate programmes for masters den doctorate level. De varsity sanso be home to de biggest library for Eswatini insyd. De library get branches for all three campuses insyd plus de main den biggest library for Kwaluseni, de main campus.

Faculty of Agriculture[edit | edit source]

De faculty dey locate for de Luyengo campus wey dey locate between Malkerns den Bhunya.[7] De faculty dey house de departments of Agriculture den Biosystem Engineering, Agricultural Economics den Management, Agricultural Education den Extension, Animal Science, Consumer Sciences, Crop Production den Horticulture. De faculty dey offer undergraduate degree majors insyd Agricultural den Biosystems Engineering, Agricultural Economics den Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Education, Agronomy, Animal Science, Animal Science (Dairy), den Horticulture.[7]

De faculty dey locate for de main campus insyd Kwaluseni.[8] E get two departments namely de Accounting den Business Administration departments wey edey offer undergraduate programmes per. De undergraduate dey major for de Bachelor of Commerce degree dey insyd Accounting, Management den Marketing. De faculty sanso dey offer Diploma insyd Commerce course.[8]

Faculty of Consumer Sciences[edit | edit source]

De faculty dey locate for de Luyengo campus.[9] De faculty dey make up of de departments wey dey follow:

  • Consumer Science Education den Community Development (CED)
  • Food and Nutrition Sciences (NFS)
  • Textiles den Apparel Design (TAD)

De faculty dey offer degrees for undergraduate (B.Sc.) den post-graduate (M.Sc.) level.[9]
