Accra Technical University (ATU) start for 1949 as Technical School for Ghana wey dem commission am for 1957 as Accra Technical Institute before Ghana Parliament turn am go Polytechnic for 2007 insyd.[1][2][3]

Later dem give am university status, so ecam turn Accra Technical University (ATU) for 2016. De school dey Accra, de capital city of Ghana.

Accra Technical University dey focus for technical den vocational education top. De school dey offer plenty academic programs like applied sciences, engineering, business, arts, den design.

Accra Technical University be de first Technical University wey dem establish. Dem establish am for 1949 as Technical School wey dem commission am for 1957 as Accra Technical Institute. For 1963 insyd, dem change de name go Accra Polytechnic by order of de then President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. By de Polytechnic Law of 1992 (PNDC 321),[4] wey ecam turn fully operative for de 1993/1994 academic year insyd, dem rise Accra Technical University go tertiary status. Dem put de institution under Higher Education Council plus power say ego fi award Higher National Diplomas through de National Board for Professional den Technician Examinations.[5]

For 2007 insyd, dem bring de Polytechnic Act (Act 745) wey ecancel de PNDC Law 321 of 1992. Dis Act give de Polytechnics power say dem go fi award Higher National Diplomas (HND), Diplomas, den oda Certificates wey de National Accreditation Board (NAB) approve, den award Degrees under conditions wey de council of dat Polytechnic fi determine. Right now, Accra Technical University dey offer ten (10) Degree (Btec) den fifteen (15) HND Programmes. Dese programmes dey run for three schools. As sam tertiary institution, Accra Technical University dey under sam Council wey dem establish under de Technical University Act 2016 (Act 745).
