Ambrose Alli University (AAU) be state-owned university insyd Edo State, Nigeria.[1] Na dem establish am insyd 1981 by de governor of Bendel State (now Edo den Delta States), Ambrose Folorunsho Alli. Initially dem know am as Bendel State University, subsequently dem know am as Edo State University, wey finally dem change am to ein present name for commemoration of Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, de National Universities Commission (NUC) accredited den recognise AAU.[2][3] De Ambrose Alli University Library dey house de information resources for de institution.
De current vice-chancellor (acting capacity) of de varsity be Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin. Na dem appoint am for 8 February 2022 by de Governor of Edo state Godwin N. Obaseki.[4][5][6]

Library

De first university librarian dem hire am for 1982, den de library ein initial book collection consist of 36,509 volumes, wey dey include 30,818 books den 5,691 government documents, plus 369 journal titles. At de time de library open, dem get 24 employees, wey dey include 20 junior den 4 senior employees. For de early years of existence, de library experience series of moves as dem search for appropriate office space. De library first move from temporary office to temporary administrative building, wey e move to three-bedroom home, before finally dem relocate to de Emaudo Campus insyd December 1982, wey be ein permanent location. Dem then library relocate again for 1987 to de Ujemen Campus, wey get more welcoming academic atmosphere. For 1999, dem officially gbele three-story library facility by de head of state, wey dey occupy 14,000 square meters. De library system currently dey consist of main library den several outreach libraries, wey e be hybrid library system wey provide print den non-print information resources.[9]
